The integrated pest management program established by the Institute is being implemented by the Department of Agriculture, Sindh. The boll worms are being monitored with sex pheromone traps at Sakrand. The chemical sprays are based on the economic threshold levels developed by CCRI, Sakrand. The cultural control to regulate sowing of cotton, management of cotton sticks and left over bolls to control pink bollworm, is being implemented throughout the Sindh.

The Institute carried out many training programs on cotton production technology and Agriculture Officers and Field Assistants of 18 cotton growing districts belong to Sindh Agriculture Extension Department. The Institute also conducted training programs for the farmers to control Mealy bug by different control methods. Different NGO’s also participated in these training programs. Printed material was also distributed among the trainees.
